Artist statement: The term 'Childless Cat Lady' is frequently used as an insult to belittle strong and independent women, with the aim of shaming us into conforming. In this self-portrait, I have reclaimed the term and wear it as a badge of pride. In my house, Childless Cat Lady leads a life filled with pleasure and adventure. She is free to seize opportunities and pursue her own fulfillment, just like any man.
