THROWING CAUTION TO THE WINDS - COLLAGE PLAY WITH ERICA WAGNER
Nine members and guests enjoyed a fun filled workshop with Erica Wagner, a MSWPS member, making a mess of papers throughout the Coach House Studio.
The workshop was a trial as an evening event for members. With the change to Daylight Saving, it was still light as members left the building.
She supplied a wealth of materials, reference books and books she has illustrated with her collage artworks.
Erica started the workshop demonstrating with simple shapes and colour and working on cardboard to loosen thoughts on perfection.
As the shapes and colours formed abstract creations, participants were invited to delve into the mass of multi coloured papers spread out on a table.
Erica became quite animated and excited when she saw what was being produced by the workshop participants.
She often framed works and edited sections with a viewing square to highlight areas.
Participants were welcome to a cuppa or cool drink and nibbles throughout the session.
The workshop was most successful, with positive feedback from participants.
