Nesting with Jan Martin

On Saturday October 4 at the MSWPS Annual Exhibition, Jan Martin created a nurturing atmosphere based on nests.

Jan was well organised with her set up for the demonstration. She had plenty of hard copy images, artwork samples of the subject, including the subject of nests.

The group of twelve engaged with Jan, she talked and answered questions throughout the demonstration regarding her art materials and techniques. We had a half-way break for ten minutes. Jan also presented several artworks and discussed what works and what doesn’t work in the paintings.

The public were able to sit for a while and watch as they wanted.

We were enthralled as she seemly threw paint around the paper, with the most luscious of brushes, splattered and dribbled, then produced a stunning rendition of a delicate bird’s nest.
