Artist Demonstration in conjunction with 2026 MSWPS Annual Exhibition
Steph Wallace - Saturday 17 October
Steph lives in the Ballarat district and sources clay from historic gold mining waste to tell the stories of the women of the goldfields.
She demonstrated how she transfers images onto clay and how she combines clay with fibreglass to create delicate transparent vessels.
Steph showed us samples of different clay and the results after firing using the same glaze. It certainly informed us about the range of clay qualities.
She talked about the process behind the artwork on display in the Annual Exhibition.
Steph was presented with The MSWPS Encouragement Award, judged by Dr Catherine Bell and Erika Gofton.
